St Macrina of Cappadocia

Installed along with 16 others between July and December 1668.

Sculptor - unknown
Though similarities exist between St Ephrem (23) and St Fausta (35), the sculptor can not be identified, perhaps because of poor artistic standing.

Height - 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine
The young saint dressed in tunic and cloak looks to the sky.  The right hand is on her chest and the left is holding a book.

St Macrina, also called the younger, was the sister of  St Basil and St Gregory of Nyssa.  Her grandmother was St Macrina the Elder.
