St. Apollonius of Alexandria

Statues in this area were installed from May 1667 to July 1668.

Sculptor - Francesco Mari
The attribution to Mari is hypothetical based on his receiving payments for two statues from August 1667 to February 1668

Height - 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine
The saint is depicted with a rope tied around his neck that is fixed to an anchor on the ground at his left.

Apollonius, with other martyrs of Alexandria, was drowned under orders of Maxililian
